Development of level of consciousness in college students: A comparison between Poland and the United States. International collaborative research project using the Troyer Level of Consciousness Inventory to assertain the effectiveness of using this measure to assist incoming teachers in becoming more reflective educators.

Teach for America interdisciplinary Research Investigating Teacher Socioemotional Development and the Reciprocal Impact of the Elementary and Secondary Mississippi Delta School System.
This regional evaluation focused on what the reciprocal impact of Teach for America teachers and the Mississippi Delta school system.

The Role of Level of Consciousness in Learning and Problem Solving. This is an ongoing a multiphase research project testing the variable of Level of Consciousness, as measured by the Troyer Level of Consciousness Inventory, on the ability to conceptualize and solve higher-order cognitive problems.

Transfer and Problem Solving: How effective are placement of adjunct questions?
This study focused on uncovering some of the best techniques for teaching problem solving related to math and science. The purpose of this series of studies was understanding how students learn math and science from text-based sources such as textbooks, study guides, and on-line tutorials. The ultimate goal was to reveal the types of questions that help students the most, where to place these questions in the learning sequence, and where and why learning breaks down in specific contexts. Students were tested on learning difficult decision trees, probability problems, and other math and science problems by providing specific adjunct questions at specific points in the acquisition process. Accuracy, time of responses, and where issues began to surface in the problem solving sequence; we all variables taken into consideration.

GearUp Program for Gaining Early Awareness & Readiness for Undergraduate Programs Evaluation.
This large scale external grant evaluation researched GearUp program participants writing, math, and science preparation and skillsets for college. The data of GearUp participants standardized test scores were compared through he National Educational Database to a variety of standardized test scores for students not involved in the GearUp Program. Recommendations were provided to the Arizona school board for continued funding of GearUp.

Expanding Science into the Community Curriculum Construction.
This program development project focused on implementing more hands-on active pedagogical techniques to make a more effective science curriculum based on integrating informal science experiences into the formal classroom. This curriculum was later implemented in a pre-service teacher course at Northern Arizona University and used in Arizona Elementary and Middle School science classrooms.

Tombstone Teacher Effectiveness. This evaluation of teacher outcomes for the Pre-Approved Professional Development Program for the Arizona Math and Science Initiative (AMSMSI Project) was an external program assessment of a newly developed math and science program in Arizona Middle and Elementary Schools..

Bias in the PASS science examination?
This collaborative project between the University of California at Santa Cruz and the Center for Science Teaching and Learning at Northern Arizona University focused on whether or not there was any racial bias in the standardized PASS science examination.

Development of Kindergartners in 2 X 2 Bilingual Program at Puente de Hozo and Killip Dual Language Programs.
This longitudinal project investigated the academic, personal, and social development of kindergartners in a special Elementary School program to instruct Navajo, Spanish, and English to the children. This project was conducted closely with Navajo tribal professionals and prominent members of the Arizona Hispanic community to assess the program’s effectiveness for continued  grant funding for both schools.

The Effectiveness of Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy on Prevention, Intervention, and Treatment of Substance Abuse. Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy was looked at as an effective method in the prevention, intervention, and treatment of substance abuse.

Is Military and Martial Training an Effective Intervention for Increasing Level of Consciousness in Normal Functioning Populations?
This large scale study measured the effectiveness of various military and martial training strategies as a variable in improved problem solving across domains such as anagrams, numerical calculations, word problems, and syllogisms.
